01

Benefits for the Mi'gmaq Communities

This project will generate profits of approximately $200 million for the Mi’gmaq communities over a 20-year period.

The project created many jobs for the Mi’gmaq. More than 300 workers engaged in the development and construction of the wind farm, 110 of them being from the Mi’gmaq communities.

02

Benefits for the RCM and the Municipalities

The project partners have agreed that Innergex will make an annual indexed contribution of $675,000 to the Avignon RCM, and will set up an indexed social development fund of $75,000 to be paid annually.

What’s more, the project brings additional business to manufacturers of wind farm components who are already established in the Gaspé Peninsula.

03

Location

The wind turbines are located on public lands in the Avignon Regional County Municipality in Québec, near the Mi’gmaq communities of Gesgapegiag, Gespeg, and Listuguj.
